The bandwidth broker architectures introduced to manage diffserv still have scalability flaws in the mean of large volumes of end-to-end tunnels and workload they have to handle. In addition they only provide solutions of inter-domainmanagement and do not consider the characteristics of intra-domain-management. The new signaling approach for intra-domain-management presented in this paper utilises existing relationships between service providers and service users, which yields to a significant reduction of the number of reservations and the workload of each bandwidth broker. The concept of this signaling proposal will be presented as well as promising test results as proof of concept. Finally further ways to reduce the workload using cache strategies are depicted.
