Concern based mining of heterogeneous software repositories

Concern based mining of heterogeneous software repositories
In the current trend of software engineering, software systems are viewed as clusters of overlapping structures representing various concerns, covering heterogeneous artifacts like models, code, resource files etc. In those cases, adequate search mechanisms for software repositories should be based on such fragmented nature of software systems, allowing concern-oriented queries on the system data. For this purpose, we propose a conceptual framework for a concernoriented query language for software repositories. A patternbased implementation scheme is discussed, exploiting existing tools. The applicability of the approach is studied in the context of an industrial case study. Categories and Subject Descriptors D.2 [Software Engineering]: Miscellaneous General Terms Documentation Keywords Heterogeneous software repositories, concern-based mining, pattern-based search structures
