Establishing and maintaining compatibility in service oriented business collaboration

Current composite web service development and management solutions, e.g. BPEL, do not cater for assessing and maintaining comparability of business partners during business collaboration development and management. It is our firm belief that to realize the vision of developing business collaborations on demand and on the fly while ensuring that collaboration between participants involved can take place, business collaboration design needs to apply software development principles and at the same time incorporate support for specification of relationships among requirements and capabilities of different participants. In this paper we introduce the business collaboration design framework, which uses a blend of design perspectives, facets and aspects to provide designers with the means to develop and deliver business collaborations in an effective and comprehensive manner.
