In a slow fading MIMO channel, we consider a coded modulation scheme where the inner code is the Golden Code. In this case, a lower bound for the minimum determinant is given by the minimum Hamming distance. Using QAM constellations, it is convenient to take quotients of the Golden Code modulo a two-sided ideal whose index is a power of two. Simulation results show that our GC-RS schemes achieve a significant gain over the uncoded Golden Code.
