Work on agent development frameworks, toolkits and methodologies have recently reached to such a level that ordinary organizations can develop their own multi-agent platforms easily using an agent toolkit and a multi-agent development methodology that meet their needs. Thus, it is likely that many organizational multi-agent platforms, which provide services in various domains, will exist in a near future. In such an environment, cooperation between organizational platforms cannot easily be realized, unless an infrastructure that supports the semantic integration of these platforms is provided. In this paper, design and implementation of an infrastructure for the semantic integration of FIPA compliant multi-agent platforms is given. The proposed infrastructure extends FIPA’s architecture and the standard FIPA agent platform by introducing new architectural elements such as the platform directory service and platform matcher which together support semantic matchmaking of remote platfo...
