Layering a Minimal Interface

Layering a Minimal Interface
: This paper reports on a software tutorial designed according to minimalist principles. The design extends minimalism beyond paper-based instructions to computer-based interface, and adopts a user-initiated layering technique to display relevant information. Evaluation confirms minimalist theory and shows that layering helps to alleviate some of the design tension between supporting learning and encouraging doing.
