LVS Digital Library Cluster with Fair Memory Utilization
A digital library system consists of LVS(Linux Virtual Server) operating with software clustering technology provides is designed on Linux environment. In the cluster of servers fair load distribution scheme that exploits memory utilization was proposed on the assumption that it reflects each server’s load more effectively, and was simulated. 1 Digital Library Web Cluster In digital library systems, most tasks are searching for information about archives including books and viewing the archive. It usually takes longer the time a person seek to find out wanted information from a result window than the time a server prepares the result window. Moreover each window opened reflects imminent search task or the past one for the server. Each window occupies a server memory. Viewing the archive by a person takes much longer time than processing the archive content by a server. More importantly, a large number of viewing the archive of complex content may exhaust a server memory. From this re...
