Mathematical analysis of the recoil growth algorithm to generate multi-polymer systems
The Recoil Growth algorithm, proposed in 1999 by Consta et al., is one of the most efficient algorithm available in the literature to sample from a multi-polymer system. While the original paper presents an efficient implementation of this algorithm, we are herein interested in defining a mathematical framework. The main contribution is to understand and formalize the fundamental structures of the two main concepts introduced by Consta et al., namely the feeler and the underlying graph, as well as their interaction. In the suggested framework, we are able to correct the original algorithm by finding the probability of acceptance that yields the desired stationary distribution. We also prove the existence of a non-empty region for which the algorithm is irreducible. Contents
