We examine the suitability of RDF, RDF Schema (as simple ontology language), and RDF repository Sesame, for providing the backend to a prospective domain-specific web search tool, targeted at the offer of bicycles and their components. Actual data for the RDF repository are to be extracted by analysis modules of a distributed knowledge-based system named Rainbow. Attention is paid to the comparison of different query languages and to the design of application-specific templates.
