Recreating Personalization Features of the Youngster Mobile Service Platform with the Dip Toolkit
The Dynamic Information Presentation (DIP) Toolkit provides a range of different personalization techniques that can be assembled in a flexible but straightforward way to create on-line personalized services. This is aimed at producing Webbased presentations. The Youngster Mobile Service Platform (MSP) was developed to combine personalization with context-awareness and provides a range of personalized services to young people who are users of next generation mobile communications devices. An exercise has just been completed in which the personalization features of the Youngster MSP have been recreated using the DIP Toolkit. This exercise provides useful insight into the way in which more conventional Web-based personalization services can be extended to other areas such as mobile communications. KEYWORDS Personalization, Mobile Services, Context -awareness.
