Remainder Sign Analysis in Fixed-point Division

—This paper analyses remainder signs determinant issue in the computer fixed-point division operation. Together with the manual binary number division, the true code addition and subtraction alternating bit-division algorithm and complement code addition and subtraction alternating bitdivision algorithm are discussed to explore the rule. The conclusion is drawn that the remainder sign is determined by the dividend both in the fixed-point true code bit-division and complement code bit-division operation.
