Security Aspects of Wireless Heterogeneous Databases - Protocol, Performance, and Energy Analysis
Users have been demanding information “anytime, anywhere”. The notion of accessing diverse and autonomous information repositories with different APIs is not accepted. This has necessitated the logical integration of diverse information from different sources with common APIs. Current multi-database researchers have addressed effectively issues such as local autonomy, heterogeneity, transaction management, concurrency control, transparency, and query resolution in a “sometimes, somewhere” environment. The concept of mobility, however, introduces additional complexities and restrictions to multi-database designers. A user accessing data through a remote connection with a portable device has high probability to face issues like reduced capacity network connections, frequent disconnections, and processing and resource restrictions. This work extends the scope of our previous effort in the design of an authorization model for a multi-database system. The Authorized Summary Schema ...
