Abstract. In wireless channel environments, location estimation error is inevitable when we use the ROA(Received signal strength Of Arrival) for location estimation. Because of multi-path fading and shadowing the received signal strength can not be obtained appropriately in wireless channel. Especially in NLOS(Non-Line Of Sight) environments, the location estimation error is increased significantly. Therefore, it is required to consider the wireless channel to reduce the estimation error. In this paper, we propose a new location estimation scheme to work precisely in NLOS environments. Reference nodes more than three are used to broadcast their location information continuously and each sensor node sorts the average received signal strength considering shadowing characteristics.
