Service Delivery in Collaborative Context-Aware Environments Using Fuzzy Logic
— This paper illustrates a novel decision making algorithm to deliver telecommunication services that match in the best possible way end-user’s requirements to current environment resources in terms of e.g. available networks and devices. We exploit collaborative context-awareness amongst the end-user devices in order to represent his telecommunication environment. This information is of particular relevance for end-users in e.g. fixed-mobile convergence scenarios. The resulting model, based on fuzzy logic principles, makes the best service delivery decision given a set of network/device selection criteria and accounts also for relative importance amongst those criteria as well as for the Quality of Context information. Furthermore the model is also robust against inaccurate and/or missing information. An example of how the model can be used to reduce control traffic needed for collaborative context determination is illustrated and supported with simulation results.
