I currently work within the Computer Vision and Image Processing Group (CVIP Group) at the Computer Engineering Department of the University of Palermo together with my advisor: Prof. Marco La Cascia.
I received the Master Degree (summa cum laude) in Computer Engineering at the University of Palermo on 07/26/2006. My Master Thesis reports a novel algorithm for non-rigid multi-modal medical image registration by mutual information maximization.
In January 2007 I started my PhD program centered on Computer Vision and Machine Learning applied to Video-Surveillance Systems at Computer Engineering Department of University of Palermo.
Since September 2008 to July 2009 I was Visiting Scholar at Computer Science Department of Boston University where I worked on camera networks under the supervision of Prof. Stan Sclaroff.
In April 2010 I got my PhD in Computer Engineering. My Ph.D. thesis is about "People Re-identification in Distributed Video-Surveillance Systems"
