Accessibility Implementation Planning for Large Governmental Websites: a Case Study
Since the end of 2004, when the law decree about accessibility for Brazilian governmental websites came into force, the federal agencies have been struggling to conform to the norms of current law. Discussions about both evaluation and fixing of pages with access barriers are taking place on the mainstream, but little attention has been paid to a feature commonly found on governmental websites: the large amount of information, compared to commercial websites. This work proposes an accessibility planning for websites with both large number of pages and intense daily accesses, carried out through a work model which we call Accessibility Factory. In addition we present the accessibility planning directions for Brazilian Central Bank website as a case study.
