Location information is becoming increasingly important in many pervasive computing applications. Reliance on accurate local knowledge of location is often critical to providing enhanced information to and from end devices. The generation and use of location information has developed applications providing Location Based Services (LBS). The critical task in provisioning such services is location identification. In this project I present the Simple Indoor Multi-floor Portable Location Engine (SIMPLE), which is a Location Determination Technology (LDT) suitable for development of LBS in the context of a museum. I have created and tested a prototype implementation and evaluated its potential and suitability for deployment in a real-life environment.
