On Combining Business Process Integration and ETL Technologies

: In this paper we contrast two important information technologies in the realm of Business Integration: Process Integration and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) Technology. After a short characterization and description of either technology, we argue for a technology crossover that results in a synergy of the available technologies, and thus realizes a more complete and superior approach. A technological study as well as show cases will provide insight into the approach proposed.
