: With his concept of „Knowledege in Action“ Rainer Kuhlen has formed the pragmatic orientation of information science. His approach introduced a dimension of time to the definition of „information“. This paper shows that the aspect of “information dynamics” was added at the same time to the concepts of information in the social sciences, in physics and in librarianship. 1 Wissen in Aktion Die Definition von „Information“ beschäftigt viele wissenschaftliche Disziplinen und füllt bereits eine kleine Bibliothek an Fachliteratur.
