Progressive Curve Representation Based on Reverse Subdivision
Abstract. A progressive curve representation based on reverse subdivision is introduced. This consists of three main components. First, multi-resolution structures for some common subdivision rules that have both banded reconstruction and decomposition filters were produced. A progressive curve representation based on multiresolution is introduced. Multiresolution filters are usually applied for the whole curve uniformly. While progressive curves are based on collapse and split operations that can locally be applied on any portion of curves. In this work, firstly, small width multiresolution filters are constructed based on the reverse of the cubic B-spline subdivision. The collapse operation is constructed from the resulting decomposition filters, while the split operation is derived from the reconstruction filters.
