This paper presents a comparison between two technologies for reconfigurable circuits that are FPGA'se the FPAA's. The comparison is based on a case study of the area of industrial control. The results of simulations with both types of reconfigurable devices is presented. Several design issues are discussed, including the ease of implementation, accuracy, capacity, consumption, size, among others. Based on the case study, we present qualitative directions to choose the most suitable reconfigurable device for similar applications.
