Meeting memory features are poorly integrated into current group support systems (GSS). This paper discusses how to introduce meeting memory functionality into a GSS. The paper first introduces the benefits of a effective meetings and organizational memory to an organization. Then, challenges such as storing semantically rich output, building up the meeting memory during the meeting with a minimum of additional effort, integrating meeting memory into organizational memory, and privacy protection are discussed. Finally, using the Group-Object object-oriented model of a GSS, the paper shows how meeting memory functionality can be implemented in a GSS.
