Road transportation systems are traditionally characterized by how efficient they direct traffic in a non-congested manner towards their destinations. Improvement in car electronics, sensors, and navigation systems all help in realizing this goal of “destination-driven” and “no-hassle” driving. With the advent of wireless communications and networking technologies, the future transportation highway would be one that is information-driven and wirelesslyenabled. In this paper, several potential applications of car-to-car networking are revealed and discussed.
