Microsearch: An Interface for Semantic Search

In this paper we discuss the potential for semantic search and focus on the most immediate problem toward its realization: the problem of the sparsity and relatively low quality of embedded metadata. We suggest that a part of the solution is to expose users to embedded metadata as part of their daily activity of searching the Web. We present the publicly available microsearch system which enriches search result presentation with metadata extracted from search results and report on some of the early feedback we have received.
