Towards On-line and Personalized Learning - A Web-Search Engine Utility
Distance learning gives benefits for training organization, which are further enhanced by using new information and communication technology. Computerbased tools provide a solution to the geographical and time constraints which more and more students are faced with. This paper reports the experience of the French Institute ENIC concerning its distance learning project. It focuses on self-training courses composed of multimedia resources. The designed tool called RAINET contains online courses accessible as digital resources. The design approach adopted makes indexing possible through relevant criteria. A 3-tier architecture has been implemented and a web-search engine has been developed using Object concepts.
