The DynaQuest-Framework should reduce the effort for the creation of Internet-based virtual databases. These virtual databases are a special kind of federated database systems where the sources are no fully-fledged databases with a query language but rather simple and restricted data provider, like web-form-based sources (”hidden web”) or web services. To support the development of these systems, DynaQuest concerns four different aspects: a source description format, a source selection process, a query execution and monitoring framework to execute queries, and finally an agent based architecture with integrates the different components of DynaQuest.
