ExNet: An Intelligent Network Management System

Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the use of artificial Intelligence techniques in the management of largescale high-speed networks. We present a design of an intelligent network management system (ExNet) that efficiently and effectively monitors and controls the resources of a large scale computer network. The ExNet provides World Wide Web graphical user interface. We have implemented a rule-based prototype of ExNet and have incorporated ExNet modules with IBM NetView network management system.
