Amore: An Integrated Environment for Database Mining
Abstract. While extensive e orts have been devoted to the development of e cient ad-hoc algorithms for association rules mining, little or no interest has been paid to the integration of mining capabilities and the database's in which data of interest is stored. This paper describes AMORE, an integrated environment for the design of data mining requests and the extraction of association rules from a relational database. The adopted architecture is characterized by a tight coupling of data mining with a classical SQL-server, that provides e cient access to operational data. The AMORE design environment, provides to the end-users both a user-friendly environment and a powerful SQL-like language for the speci cation of data mining requests.
