A software for learning Information Theory basics with emphasis on Entropy of Spanish

In this paper, an educational software aimed to help learning Information Theory basics in a practical way is reported. The software, called IT-tutor-UV, can produce entropy analysis for both natural and artificially produced Spanish text. In the last case use of a modern existing Spanish corpus for the modelling of the source is done. Source coding, channel coding, and a binary symmetric channel are also included in this educational tool as part of thelearningexperience.
