Advancing the synthesis of Eastern mind science with Western physical science will require a robust and easy-to-traverse bridge between the atypical apprehensions within meditation to the typical apprehensions embodied in colloquial language. This requirement becomes inescapable as research moves beyond the documentation and elucidation of meditation’s therapeutic effect to the refinement of the therapeutic meditation instrument itself. One approach is to map attributes that are presumed to be causally associated with atypical apprehensions onto the output of biological tissue that could plausibly be casually related.
