: Starting from the rich historical documentation of the National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia, we provide some examples of crosschecking aerial photography and archival data, especially from cartographic archives: in the immediate Northern outskirts of the city we can assume the existence of residential areas - one of which was located right by a production area - while evidence obtained by aerial photography both in the North-Eastern and Western sectors refer respectively to a necropolis on the way to Emona and to via Annia, according to archival sources.
