Di-Sec: A distributed security framework for heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are no longer a nascent technology and today, they are actively deployed as a viable technology in many diverse application domains such as health care, military, environmental. Moreover, with the initiative of NSF's Cyber-Physical Systems program, sensor-based applications have gained a new impetus in the research community. Nonetheless, over the last decade, the WSNs research community has identified many unique security threats/attacks. Therefore, there has been a tremendous effort in building defense mechanisms against these threats and a myriad of security solutions have been introduced in the literature. However, the trend with different security schemes so far has been to focus on defending against individual threats/attacks rather than a comprehensive security solution.
