In contrast to printed photos, practices for sharing digital photos are yet to become well established. Consequently, they have received relatively little attention in the literature. Six individuals from four households were interviewed to understand how the copresent use of different digital media might affect people's perceptions and enjoyment of photo sharing. A number of observations made by the participants were identified that have implications for design and for further work. Primarily, new display technologies need to: (i) allow people to interact facing one another in comfortable surroundings, and (ii) afford easy control of the presentation by both photographer and audience.
