The Signaling Overhead in Dynamic OFDMA Systems: Reduction by Exploiting Frequency Correlation
Abstract— Dynamic OFDMA systems provide a significant performance gain compared to static OFDM approaches. In reality this gain is reduced by an overhead due to signaling. Previous work has shown that this loss is particularly high if the number of sub-carriers is large. In this paper we present two approaches to reduce this overhead by exploiting the correlation in frequency. These two schemes are shown to provide a significant reduction of the signaling overhead.1
