Hierarchical Model-Based Motion Estimation
This paper describesa hierarchicalestimation framework for the computation of diverserepresentationsof motion information. The key features of the resulting framework (or family of algorithms) a,rea global modelthat constrainsthe overallstructure of the motion estimated,a local rnodelthat is used in the estimation process, and a coa,rse-finerefinement strategy. Four specificmotion models:affineflow, planar surfaceflow, rigid body motion, and generaloptical flow, are describedalongwith their application to specificexamPles.
