On the Iwasawa decomposition of a symplectic matrix

We consider the computation of the Iwasawa decomposition of a symplectic matrix via the QR factorization. The algorithms presented improve on the method recently decribed in [8]. Key words. Iwasawa decomposition, symplectic group, QR factorization
