Modelling Ecological Data

Ecological surveys generate large quantities of data database technology has not yet reached its full potential in this area. Here we investigate approaches to modelling ecological data, considering the requirements for a successful model. An object oriented conceptual model is presented, and applied to the results of an actual survey. A data management system based on this object oriented approach is brie y described.
