: We present a twofolded view to the Petri Net Markup Language (PNML). On the one hand we describe the current state of PNML seen while adopting PNML for an existing tool. The extension allows easy exchange of examples between the PEP tool and other Petri net tools. On the other hand we show how to benefit from the versatility of the Extensible Markup Language (XML). We present a translator from PNML to the Scalable Vector Graphics format (SVG), which may be used for display of Petri nets on the Web.
