In this paper, we present a method for generating a texture for hiding a marker in augmented reality applications. The texture is generated by interpolating the neighbourhood of the detected marker area. We use the original image as input for texture generation, this enables photorealistic results. For offline processing and applications using still images this method creates seamless continuation of the background over the marker area. The method presented here shows clear potential for real time use as well and we describe few ways to apply it in real time.
