In this paper we describe an interactive system called “NanoScape” which we developed in 2001 for the public exhibition „Science + Fiction“ at the Sprengelmuseum in Hannover. The project was supported by the Volkswagenstiftung Germany and has been on tour through Europe and Asia. The aim of “Nano-Scape” is to let visitors intuitively experience aspects of nanotechnology by interacting with invisible selforganizing atoms through a magnetic force feedback interface.
