FaceKit: A Database Interface Design Toolkit

realm of User Interface Management Systems (UIMS) with a built-in knowledgeabout the specifickinds of techniques used by object-oriented databases, we have designeda systemthat allows a userto customizea database interface with minimal programming. Knowledge about object-orienteddatabaseconstructssuchasclasses, groupings, etc., allows FaceKit to semi-automatically create graphical constructs appropriate to the objectoriented databaseenvironment. FaceKit is built on top of Cactis, an object-oriented databasemanagementsystem (DBMS), and is capable of creating interfaces that deal with Cactisboth at theschemaanddatalevel.
