Improving Internet Research Methods: A Web Laboratory
We describe the current state of a resource that enables research in the human sciences with differential access rights for experimenters and participants in experiments. We outline advantages and foibles of Internet-based research – problems and solutions in sampling, for example. The functionality of the system from the three user views is presented: administrator, experimenter and participant. The most important issue is that a high degree of control over presentation of materials is enabled without the Experimenter having to know anything about programming in the underlying Java. Limited data automatic analysis facilities are also currently available and earmarked for analysis extensions are outlined. KEYWORDS Methodology, Experiment Server, Data Collection
