Narrating Built Heritage by Its Own Storytelling
This paper intends to demonstrate the importance of a Linguistic approach for understanding the complexity implied in the simulations of the Built Environment. Indeed, it will be asserted that Architecture uses a performative communication system, which is translated in a narrative script by its Users owning the right competencies on the social environment where it take place; so, it will be related such issue to the tasks involved in designing a virtual environment. The discussion of such topic is based both on Philosophy of Language and on Semiotics, mainly adopting the Austin's theory of illocutionary acts, the Deleuze and Guattari's theory of "mot d'ordre", the Paolo Fabbri's theory of narrative of prescriptive texts and the Umberto Eco's theory of the architectonic sign.
